WHAT IS GAD?
GAD is our Global Aid & Development Department. For CCWM this means networking with current community projects and initiatives before ever seeking to initiate something new. Often times there are already community programs running within a community of need. By partnering with existing programs fewer, stronger initiatives can serve those in need with less overheads and maximum efficiency. Our GAD Department also seeks to fill community needs that may not yet be addressed.
Within GAD we have effectively designated our work to be either ‘practical’ or ‘social’ based to better administrate our projects. So in essence we have two sub-departments in GAD: Practical and Social.
GAD - SOCIAL Projects
Girlfirendz– (weekly women’s group)
Girlfriendz
is a group for all women of all ages, backgrounds and situations. We are here to provide
friendship, Support, activities and more for the women who attend
Girlfriendz. We are based in Melton Victoria with plans to have groups in other ares in the future. Our group has a relationship with widows in Kenya and supports them through various means.
Some of the activities we provide are:
Art
days, Jewellery making, Card making, Cooking, focus days (Biblical
teachings or self reflection), A Womens Conference day and so much
more! You don’t need any experience to participate.
Every woman who
attends for the first time receives a bag with lots of goodies in it,
to pamper, enjoy and eat!
Mission Statement
Girlfriendz
endeavors to support, encourage and facilitate women to reach their
full potential. This will encompass imparting hope, peace, healing,
support and comfort. To restore value, dignity, self-esteem, freedom
and giving a sense of belonging. Above all our hearts are to express
kindness in all that we do.

Freedom exists to care for the emotional and spiritual needs of
those in need.
Freedom Counselors are
professionally trained in a variety of methods and theories. We have our own pastoral and professional
counselors and also link with other organizations to provide the optimum
service for our clients. Our counseling
is biblically based with a focus to encourage people towards an understanding
of their own self worth and a deeper understanding of God’s love.
Freedom Healing
Prayer Ministry facilitates the healing of Jesus Christ. It goes beyond cognitive
or general counseling; often deeper into past traumas, memories, and core
issues that can drive our actions and reactions in the present. We believe that the spiritual, physical and
emotional areas of a human being are often influenced by deep pain that is in
many cases not in the conscious mind.
GAD - PRACTICAL Projects
Earth Village - (recycled clothing, fair trade and local handicraft store)
Earth Village exists not only to bring in funds for CCWM but as a means to distribute fairly traded handicrafts/support CCWM’s microenterprise projects and empower local artisans.
Earth Village is also a means by which we are able to freely give away recycled clothing, footwear and bric ‘a’ brac to those in need through partnering with local community service groups. Lastly Earth Village exists to raise awareness of global poverty and injustice.

- Community Home for widows and their children in Kenya
Kenya
has many widows and the needs for them and their children is enormous.
Many rely on other family and friends for support, this is difficult
however in communities that are struggling to feed their own families.
This
project will ensure they have secure accomodation, emotional and
practical support. It is proposed that the first home will house
up to 8 widows and their children, with an emphasis on them becoming
self sufficient and supporting the wider community through small
business ventures encouraged and initiated through CCWM.
